Video converter for mac mts. Because I’m an idiot. 😉
I just accepted delivery of this beautiful DJ controller – all tracks are organised in Rekordbox and ready to go.
…trouble is that at first glance this thing makes no sense at all and the ‘quick start guide’ isn’t really telling me much.
DRIVER
I’m not sure if my laptop has installed the driver properly – or where this fits in to the setup process. My computer restarted on installation but nothing really happened.
REKORDBOX DJ
The controller comes with a free license key – do I need to install this first? I tried but again, no idea if my Rekordbox software has upgraded – I don’t know where to enter the license key – or again, where this fits into the setup process.
SEEING TRACKS
I don’t want to use USB sticks, I’d rather connect my laptop for now. Ideally I’d like to connect my XDJRX to the wireless network but can’t see an option anywhere to do this.
I’ve connected the laptop using the midi feature directly into the back of the controller. It still says, ‘not connected’.
CONFUSED
Literally no idea what to do next – I’m not particularly techie and there’s no online setup tutorial vid to be found.
Am I alone in this confusion?
Power on for mac. Cheers!

Streaming is never a serious option imho. USB-connected laptop with RekordBox DJ on it would be much preferred.
I am not too familiar with your controller. Bit dazed by your remark that tags are in the comment field. In which case they are not tags, they are (duh) the comment field. I think RekordBox let’s you export whatever column you want, so if you export the comment column you should (this seems logical, but again from a theoretical point of view) be able to see the comments on your XDJ-RX.
Keep in mind that RekordBox and RekordBox DJ are two different things. In order to DJ with DJ software and the RX as a DJ-controller, you will need RB DJ (switch in the software from Export to Performance mode).
Other than that, I hope some of the RX-owning members here can help you out a bit further.
On the XDJ-RX you have to press Menu -> Mixer Mode -> Midi , then it’s ready for usb connection with rekordbox.
Have you got your Rekordbox DJ (Performance mode) lisence? It was attached to the RX in the last month…Still don’t understand why you want to use this as an controller, the whole point with the RX is the standalone player. 😉

With such terminals, rekordbox cannot be operated with MTP connections, so such terminals cannot be connected to the XDJ-RX using a USB cable. Depending on the specifications of the MTP mode of the smartphone you are using, MTP connections may only be usable with applications exclusively for Macintosh or Windows. The XDJ-RX, is a DJ console that incorporates two separate digital players, a mixer and a built-in monitor. The uniquely designed DJ system is intended for users of the popular Pioneer rekordbox music management software, which enables DJs to quickly play prepared music stored on a USB device, eliminating the need to connect or carry a separate computer for use as a music source. The XDJ-RX is the perfect marriage of two USB-driven players, a 2-channel mixer, pad control, and a large screen with dual waveform display. It inherits much of its DNA from our club-standard set-up to bring you powerful performance features – including Loop Slice – and you can also use it as a stand-alone mixer.
