Watch videos in VLC on your Mac and play the audio over AirPlay. AirVLC has been discontinued. AirPlay is a delightful protocol to stream audio for audiophiles; it favors audio quality over real-time output. Console shows a lot of airplay errors. This is out of scope of VLC. Please check your Wifi, maybe the devices are too far away and wifi reception is not optimal. Regarding the VLC log, you can try two things: Does the problem happen as well with local files (audio and video)?

VLC for Apple TV requires tvOS 9.0 or later. It runs on the fourth generation Apple TV. Previous devices are not supported.
