This allows your to use Disengage while being rooted. It dispells the root effect and then uses Disengage. So you get an additional root counter when chosing this talent. (2nd ability for that: Master's Call)
With this you can break root effects in PVP either on the 25s CD timer of Disengage or on the 45s CD timer of Master's Call.
Also the 60% run speed buff works quite well to counter the 50% to 70% slow effects of your enemies in PVP. This buff is also a non-dispellable one and that way helps you to keep your movespeed despite being 'slowed'. Perfect for flag carrying Hunters (which sometimes happens) because Disengage jump +8s lasting +60% movespeed = incredibly helpful.
I also tested the Charred Glyph. Result: When jump-disengaging on flat ground it adds ~5 yards distance. Not worth anything since it's a major glyph and that 5y add nothing really.
Your other talent choices are:
Narrow Escape
I left a (hopefully helpfull) comment there, too.
What I couldn't test yet: Is Disengage still interrupted / bugging when being feared / CC'ed etc. ?

Almost like a 'ghetto Sprint'. Turn 180 degrees, Disengage, run!Comment by Menardis
For anyone considering this talent in 5.4 with planned nerfs to Narrow Escape and two charges on Disengage:- yes, the speed buff stacks with certain other similar effects. Most notably Symbiosis: Dash from Druids.
- yes, you can be rooted / feared / stunned / etc immediately after activating the cooldown and in mid jump. Any effects you had will have been cleared, but it does NOT provide any resistance to new debuffs that land on you either after you cast Disengage or while they were in motion (such as Frostbolt).
- the speed buff granted is Magical and can be dispelled and Spellstolen.

this is an exact 'replica' of a old rogue's improved sprint 2/2 points in combat tree(but not 70%), and only reason one went into the Combat tree because otherwise it sucked.majorly.I guess low level hunters were having a hard time in pvp(notice the sarcasm here) so blizz gave them more flexibility.Hooray for skeying low level hunters in boa(*while killing you. Fastly.)
but improved sprint was on a 2 min cd, and obtained at ~mid 30s. And this? 20 seconds ; ) ...at level 15

Using this with Nitro Boost from engineering is quite fun as well, as it increases your runspeed additionally, making you feel like you're Flash.Funny thing, it doesn't show in the General menu in the Character Tab.. It shows 400% when Nitro Boosts is active, no matter if you have Posthaste from Disengage active or not, but you can feel the difference in speed.
(I abuse this combo + Goblin Glider in Arathi Basin, jumping down if I think I have a chance to ninjacap. If it fails, I just Deter + Disengage + Nitro Boosts, works really well.)

If you've chosen Lone Wolf as your level 100 talent, Posthaste is pretty useful as it can replace Master's Call as a means of removing movement impairing effects.Comment by Casn
People considering talens on this tier from PvE point of view tend to see them only as movement boosts, which is wrong. Posthaste removal of movement impairing effects means any removable effect with slow/root attached can be removed by it.In WoD, there were plenty of opportunities to use it, to point out few, Shock Bola, Freezing Snare, Frozen Core.
It also works on most Legion abilities.
Oh, and speed buff is applied on landing, so using Disengage after using Glider will provide speed boost after hitting ground, allowing it to cool down early.

As of Legion 7.1: Posthaste speed increase was nerfed from 8 seconds to 5 seconds. It seems as though Blizzard is actively trolling hunters at this point. Mobility for arguably the squishiest class out there is incredibly important, yet here we are, they've already turned Aspect of the Cheetah from a constant 40% increase to a short CD based speed increase, now hunters have to deal with nearly 50% less time on posthaste.Comment by dillybar
And now they nerf it further, after a bunch of us asked that they return it to the higher level it was before Legion. Utterly ridiculous.Posthaste Talent Requires Hunter |
Disengage also frees you from all movement impairing effects and increases your movement speed by 50% for 4 sec. |
