Thoughts on non-intersex folx identifying as 'non-binary' Hello friends! As a disclaimer, I am a gender non-conforming AFAB person who still uses she/her pronouns and to my knowledge am not intersex. I have been a vocal advocate for Intersex rights and inclusion for my entire adult life and am always looking for ways to best support the community. It is also vital to hold that often folx who have not addressed our internalized transphobia and/or are aware of it are more likely to engage in behaviors to align with our societal constructs that we have so deeply internalized. I am a trans and non binary person, my pronouns are they/them. I was assigned female at birth and socialized as female.

A court case has ruled that the 2010 Equality Act covers non-binary and genderfluid people.

The Act formally outlaws discrimination whether on the grounds of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, religion, pregnancy and maternity, or marriage and civil partnership.

Today an employment tribunal brought by a Jaguar Land Rover employee reported experiencing harassment and discrimination due to their gender identity.

Trans Non Binary Folx

Jaguar Land Rover, rather than acting on the problem, chose to go to court and argue that non-binary people were not covered by the Equality Act, and so .

However the court saw otherwise, declaring that gender is a spectrum and that the identities of non-binary people are clearly protected in law. It duly ruled in favour of Mx Taylor finding that there had been constructive dismissal on the part of Jaguar Land Rover.

During submissions there was reference to Hansard comments made during the Equality Bill parliamentary debates in 2009.
